Be PLEASED

Introduction – Being Pleased with Your Mate:
One of the sweetest gifts God gives is the joy of looking at the person you love and feeling truly pleased—not just with their appearance, but with their heart, their faith, and the life you are building together. Proverbs 18:22 says, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.” That kind of favor doesn’t happen by accident—it’s cultivated through intentional preparation.
The P.L.E.A.S.E.D. framework—Physically, Legally, Experimentally, Aspiringly, Spiritually, Eternally, and Dynamically—offers a way to prepare for marriage over seven days, focusing on one area each day. By the end of the week, you’ll have touched every dimension of a God-honoring marriage.
Physically (The Marriage Bed) Scripture: “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure…” (Hebrews 13:4)
Devotional Thought:
God designed the marriage bed as a sacred place of covenant intimacy—exclusive, joyful, and undefiled. Before marriage, purity protects the beauty of that gift. After marriage, intentional care keeps it vibrant and secure. Physical intimacy is not just about pleasure; it’s about trust, vulnerability, and becoming “one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).
Reflection Questions:
How can we honor God with our bodies before marriage?
What boundaries will help us protect purity?
How will we prioritize intimacy after marriage?
